Residential Mortgage Underwriter

First State Bank is seeking a Residential Mortgage Underwriter for its St. Louis or Kansas City location.  This individual is responsible for underwriting files on a day to day basis.  This position is also a resource to origination, operations and underwriting staff regarding guidelines and scenarios.  This individual is also responsible for reviewing file for credit worthiness, based on published guidelines from various investors in which loans are sold to.  Verify appraisals to ensure collateral fully supports loan request, analyze file to ensure the bank's lien position will be perfected  Assist with underwriting matters from Mortgage Loan Specialists, prepare all appropriate approval and or denial documentation. Demonstrates attention to detail, focuses on solving conflict, maintain confidentiality, writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar. Understands business implications of decisions, aligns work with strategic goals and works within approved budge.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.   Four to ten years related experience and/or training preferred.

 Part-Time Teller

First State Bank in Chesterfield is seeking a Part-Time Teller at its Baxter location.  The Teller will perform all duties required of a bank Teller by following policies and procedures set forth by First State Bank.  Assists the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager in promoting and maintaining a professional team atmosphere that enables all team members to grow, succeed and find job satisfaction.  Assists customers in a prompt, courteous and professional manner that meets or exceeds the bank's commitment to service and value.  Performs teller functions as needed with the Teller line including but not limited to:  maintains and accurately balances cash proper cash supplies in Teller drawer, accepts and completes customer transactions quickly and accurately, efficiently maneuvers all computer systems and equipment used in the Teller areas. Follows all bank policies, procedure and regulations.  Adheres to all bank security and safety measures as stipulated in established security policies.  They must demonstrate attention to detail, identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customers needs.

First State Bank Mortgage is seeking a Quality Control Underwriter.  This individual conducts pre-closing audits of loans in order to prevent closing with significant defects.  Conducts post-closing audits of loans in order to identify defects in the process from which plans are implemented.  Completes independent calculation and analysis of key aspects of mortgage file including compliance requirements, loan-to-value and debt-to-income ratios, employment/income, assets, credit, etc.  Completes validation and re-verification of data based relied upon during the loan decision including ordering desk and field review appraisals.  Evaluates decision made by Underwriter and completion of other required items including to processing and closing.  Communicates audit findings for each file reviewed.

High school diploma or general education degree required.  Associates degree (A.A.) preferred.  Minimum 5 years mortgage underwriting and/or quality control experience required.  Minimum 3 years conventional, FHA and VA underwriting experience required.  FHA DE, VA SAR and USDA experience preferred.

 

Branch Manager

First State Bank Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Loan Specialist for its Overland Park location.  The Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist is a mixture of mortgage accounting and servicing.  They are responsible for balancing the associated DDA and GL accounts for lending and servicing.  The servicing aspects may include general customer service, paying insurance and taxes, recording and releasing mortgage documents, etc.  This individual accurately follows procedures to balance loan funding after loans close, will then address any issues with the closing department, book loans either to Fiserv or the file is transferred to sub-servicer.  Stacks, ships and files loan in the vault and accurately prepares and processes all tickets and third party checks that are necessary to balance a new loan origination.  Services all HELOCs and Held for Sale Loans.  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.  Manages difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customers needs. Mortgage Loan Specialist - Opener (2 Positions)

First State Bank Mortgage is seeking 2 Mortgage Loan Specialist Openers for its Overland Park location.  This individual is responsible for the accurate and complete setup of mortgage loan application files.  This includes properly disclosing on the file, ordering appraisals and title work, stacking the file in prescribed order and updating the mortgage loan origination system.  Receives file from Residential Mortgage Lenders and enters data into log.  Enters data into the loan origination system for file receipt date.  Orders title work, transcripts, home owners insurance and drive report.  Assigns the file to a Mortgage Loan Specialist once all steps are complete.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  3-6 months related experience and/or training preferred.
